Top tip for curtain fitting – make sure the curtain fixture can take the weight of your curtains ⚖️
When picking fabric for curtains, be mindful of the added lining and the amount of fabric needed for the window dressing, as this will determine the overall weight, and therefore determine the best way to fit the window dressing impeccably.
Although fitters are well-versed in curtain fitting and have been doing it for years, they can sometimes get it wrong (as can we all in our respective fields). And luckily, there’s always a solution💡
These particular curtains are heavy, but I didn’t think we would have any problems due to the fact that they were fixed to an external wall (I was wrong 😑).
However, over time and with the opening and closing of these curtains, the fixture had become loose which caused the left hand side to fall.
So, out came the masonry hammer drill and in went a sturdier and stronger fitting … its definitely done the trick and the window dressing is back to its beautiful self, stronger than ever.
I hope this has been helpful, I have certainly learnt from it.
